This, the debut Roberto Cavalli campaign to be revealed under the creative direction of Paul Surridge, is all about a woman’s assertive sensuality. Can’t you tell? Shot by American photographer Zoe Ghertner under the sun of California’s Simy Valley, the images tell a story of contrast, the rawness of the natural elements, the dry grass, the exposed rocks and wood accentuating razor sharp tailoring and general urban chic of the collection. Paul Surridge’s brilliant first collection features throughout, with those tiger-print outerwear pieces encroaching on camouflage against the Californian wilderness.

“For my first advertising campaign for the brand, I wanted to work with an all-female team, which could better interpret the fiercely independent attitude of the Roberto Cavalli woman” explained Mr Surridge. “We opted for an outdoor set and natural light to capture an unfiltered, spontaneous, unpredictable moment infused with powerful energy”. This is brought in abundance by Dutch model Birgit Kos, who effortlessly embodies the many superlatives of the Cavalli woman with nonchalant ease. Keep your eyes peeled for the campaign when it hits fashion mags the world over this March.
