Rag & Bone: Ready-to-wear SS16

And so, as the day drew to a close, it was off to Brooklyn for Rag & Bone’s SS15 show. We felt a bit like Carrie Bradshaw when she has to cross the Brooklyn Bridge to go see the premiere of Smith’s play. You know, the episode where she’s forced on to a motorbike by Berger, wearing Prada and carrying a floor length Fendi tassel bag? Of course you do. It’s kind of how we wish we had arrived – well, definitely wearing/carrying the latter, anyway. Unlike Carrie, though, we were excited to be making the adventure out of Manhattan. For there was palpable change in the air at Rag & Bone – it felt bigger, better and more confident than ever. Then reason for the excitement? Rag & Bone is a brand that gets women. Perhaps more importantly, considering our current geographical positioning, they get New York women. For this was a collection that she would want to wear – satin bomber jackets, ribbed jumpers, a lightweight parka. Sporty little dresses that skimmed the body. Criss-cross bra tops. By the end, you had forgotten the boys that helm the brand are actually Brits – these models were ready to walk straight off the catwalk and away into the New York night.
