As the mirrored floor gleamed and with everybody jammed against each other and we waited for Kylie to finally arrive in the absolutely shortest slip of a dress in gold lace this definitely set the tone as to what was about to burst down the catwalk. Pure unadulterated amazon sex goddess striding defiantly to every pounding beat of the music.
What Dundas has managed to achieve here, totally seamless, is to dress the women who have loyally followed him from his previous incarnation to give them what they want, full on unashamed glamour! Gowns barely covering, skimming the body and creating the billowing drama they need. As the chiffon lashed around their legs and just concealing their modesty you knew the customers were gasping with delight. Brilliant high energy alternative to the austerity of the trend for the week which has been minimal 90’s glamour.
The thing that I think is clever about Dundas, is he knows his customer and he dresses her accordingly. If more designers remained focused on this I am sure they wouldn’t be experiencing the downturn they have been suffering over the last few season. The moral of the story dress the women that will spend on your fashion- a leopard never changes his spots and a girl always knows what she wants so just give it to her!!!
