Red and yellow and pink and green, purple and orange and blue. We haven’t totally cracked due to fashion week fatigue: we’re just dissecting the prism of colours crammed into the Paul Smith winter show – sometimes half a dozen in the same outfit. Colour is something Mr Smith does fantastically well – his signature stripe motif go rains even more than that opening litany. It’s a skill amply evidenced by this show, where a big fat tomato red oat clashed with a green jersey or burgundy trousers in a glorious, gleeful cacophony. They were as fun to watch as we bet they will be to wear.
