Fendi has announced its first global menswear ambassador, and he’s a good ‘un. The brand’s AW23 campaign looks to fashion and Hollywood’s ever-burgeoning relationship by enlisting actor Nicholas Galitzine as its star. The performance – which is equal parts sultry and debonair – marks Galitzine’s first major act as the house’s new face.
Galitzine, who is best known for his performance as Luke – the dreamboat marine at the heart of Netflix hit Purple Hearts – has been intertwined with Fendi for the past year or so. After attending its New York show in September 2022, which celebrated the 25th year of the Baguette, and the debut of the AW23 collection in Milan this January, the rising star is a clear yet refreshing choice to represent the house.
Under the creative and film direction of Italian artist Nico Vascellari, the release perfectly reflects the effortless elegance of the collection, which was designed by Fendi’s artistic director of accessories and menswear, Silvia Venturini Fendi. The pieces, which ooze understated luxury, highlight the label’s dedication to high-end fabrications, with double-faced cashmere, jacquard silks and structured leathers appearing throughout.
Speaking on what it was like meeting the artistic director, Galitzine noted “Silvia Venturini Fendi is such an icon in the fashion world, I felt so thankful to embody her vision for this collection. I so admire what she’s done with the brand, taking it in a new, cool direction, while staying true to her family roots.”
