Tekla and Les Couleurs Suisse AG just launched a limited-edition capsule of exquisite mohair blankets inspired by the colours of the latter. Shot within the Studio-Apartment of Le Corbusier in Paris by Ola Rindal, the blankets, which are finished with a natural, fringed edge, take inspiration from the architect’s Architectural Polychromy, comprising 63 colour shades created across two palettes in 1931 and 1951. Hand-woven by artisans in Spain, the cosy spreads reinterpret Le Corbusier’s unorthodox and playful approach to brilliant colour. All blankets will be priced at £665 and are sold exclusively via Tekla online.

Under its new executive design director of sport and lounge, Adam Selman, functionality and play crash into each other creating a collection of low and medium-impact bras, high-waisted leggings, jumpsuits and a bodysuit too. For sweating it out at the gym or working from home where comfort is key, the leisure line will be available to shop from November 9. Superstar founder, Rihanna said, “We wanted to push the boundaries with how we define sport and sportswear and there is no one I’d rather do that with than Adam. EDWARD CUMING’S SS23 COLLECTION IS EFFORTLESSLY EXPERIMENTAL
SS23 sees Edward Cuming’s experimental expertise come to life. The sunset-coloured spring collection, aptly dubbed Thirsty, is a sexy assortment of deconstructed dressy elements and body-wrapping silhouettes. Staples of the namesake label of the Australian-born, Madrid-based designer and Central Saint Martins Menswear MA graduate, are rife, spanning androgynous treatments and strange sartorialism. Playing with concepts of inversion, subverting traditional techniques and highlighting imperfections, slouchy trousers, sharp tailored garments and see-through summer knits are all on offer. The new generation designer said, “I want to encourage people to try a garish, silky, purple pair of trousers – to feel excited, bold and confident in what they wear and who they are – even if it won’t sell thousands of units.”

CORBIN SHAW TAKES OVER LEVI’S REOPENING OF ITS REGENT STREET STORE
Last week, Levi’s unveiled a large-scale art installation, at the reopening of its Regent Street store, created by London based artist Corbin Shaw, who was named lead artistic collaborator for its new LDN in Levi’s campaign. The textile installation explores how denim imprints can retell the story of Shaw’s own London, but what does that look like? “My London is made up of caf laughs and pub drafts,” Shaw says in an interview, adding, “The people are what make it for me.” The work, entitled London Tapestry, is an impressive and self-expressive display playing with signature slogans in a bid to dig deeper into Shaw’s usual explorations of everyday mundanities looking to break down classism, masculinity and societal norms in Britain.
Of course, linking up with Levi’s was an easy option for Shaw, who recalls having had Levi’s in his life since he was around 13 years old. “I remember getting my first pair of stone-washed Levi’s 501’s with my Dad who told me what to wear to football,” he says. “My teenage uniform was made up of bomber jacket, boots and 501s, football, gigs and dates in the park. I got my life out of them. I still have that same pair back home in the garage.”
“The 501 is a staple, a blank canvas in which we can project our identity onto depending on how we wear it. Clothes are these two-dimensional objects that cover our bodies and then our bodies imprint onto the clothes. I’m obsessed with denim and the way that each pair of jeans tells the story of the person who owns them, where they have been, what they have carried with them. Each fade is like a memory. With my tapestry, I wanted to imprint my life’s experiences onto the fabric.”
