Neil Barrett: AW16 Menswear

For winter 2016, Neil Barrett looks to his own past – personal and professional – to design an intimate, private and resolutely real wardrobe for his man. What’s that mean? A seventies Bowie interview as a soundtrack, Kestrels inspired by Kes (well, by Barrett’s childhood on Dartmoor, but I imagine it’s very Kes-y), and soccer jersey colours like school sports kit. The whole thing was by his own British childhood, the collection proposing not a look, but a wardrobe, of classic items given a dynamic sense of the modern and contemporary, but still an engaging nostalgia. Misty water-coloured memories, but sharp clean clothes.
