Last month, Dior released the newest addition from its jewellery arm, Dior Joaillerie, entitled ‘My Dior’. An exquisite collection of fine jewellery, the offering pays homage to one of the house’s most recognisable motifs – the cannage.
Synonymous with the refined elegance that the brand has represented since Christian Dior’s first fashion show in 1947, where he seated guests on chairs decorated with the pattern. A key part of Dior’s DNA, the cannage pattern has appeared across countless accessories and garments, most notably the signature Lady Dior bag. Now, a fresh perspective on the cannage has come into play, this time finding life in additional pieces added to My Dior earlier today.
Featuring a thick gold cuff bangle alongside a more slimline bracelet and delicate ring, the pieces feature a black lacquer underlay – a beloved signature of creative director Victoire de Castellane, who has held the position since 1999. Bold and most definitely beautiful.
