Moschino: Ready-to-Wear SS18

Say it with flowers. Say it with Gigi. Or, alternatively, say it as with Gigi AS flowers. A bunch of them. “Florals? They’re always a thing for spring,” says Jeremy. “But they’ve never bloomed with so much boom as on the Moschino Spring runway for 2018.” I mean, you have to admire how Mr Scott picks a theme and sprints with it – big, pansy-like capes, mini-dresses and ghillie body-suits made entirely with flowers, the same flowers spilling out of thigh-high boots. Gowns that opened-out like butterfly wings, or poufs of tulle with hundreds of butterflies flitting around them. Oh – and punk ballerinas – “candy-hued ballerinas with a biker-girl edge,” says the release of the looks that opened the show. Think: tutus and leather corsets, baker-boy hats with silver chains. All a bit Showgirls. Why? “This is a collection about how far you can go,” says Scott. “How far you can leap.” Fitting: who pushes it quite as far as Jeremy, or leaps as high? This American is Milan’s showman – and the city’s all the better for him. Great Scott!
