Jeremy Scott began working on his Moschino Pre-fall 2021 collection with a printer and a pair of scissors. Well, not literally. But he could have. The high fashion iconoclast set upon creating a collection that collaged Moschino staples, cut-and-pasting synonymous house codes in Frankensteined creations.
Scott playfully bulldozed one Moschino-ism into the next, crafting hybridised Le Smoking suits with glittery power shoulders and wraparound evening dresses that birth slithers of leather. “I always want to have fun with it,” said Scott in a press release. “With this collection, that joy was found in looking back and fusing together different moments from mine and Moschino’s visual language over the years.”
The splicing of fabrics and mismatched silhouettes sees Scott blend distinct character codes, concocting Moschino’s very own starring roles in the process, each played by Winnie Harlow. Whether it be Paris Hilton pretty-in-pink valour trackies paired with biker chick purses, or business-women skirt suits trimmed with out-on-the-town leopard print, in Moschino land, anything goes.
