Moncler Gamme Bleu: Menswear SS17

We know a few men who’d like to wrestle with a couple of bears in their sleeping bag and pitch a tent. Did we get enough innuendos in? Well, anyway, get your minds out of the gutter – that’s not what Thom Browne’s spring Moncler Gamme Bleu show was about, at all. Rather it was all-American Boy Scouts and camping trips, nostalgia for the wide open spaces of the great outdoors, and Moncler’s history as a sleeping-bag producer par excellence. That’s why every Moncler man was a class in a cape-cum-sleeping bag, stripped off to reveal multiple pockets, khaki, big fat wide checked loveliness from head to toe, and lots and lots of shorts. The clothes were fun, but at the same time easy to imagine slipping into your wardrobe – practical, but pretty. If you go down to the woods today, you’re in for a big surprise – namely, that you’ll want to take your credit card and buy all these Cub Scouts’ clobber.
