The MM6 Maison Margiela team are fully embracing the working-from-home lifestyle. The brand’s latest collection questions the corporate and embraces the domestic, reads the press release. Creating each of the looks remotely, the team began taking inspiration from their own days in lockdown and the countless hours spent on Zoom calls.
The idea of “business on top, party on the bottom,” was explored through double-breasted trench coats sliced in half, the top made into a formal office shit worn with leggings, the bottom repurposed as a boxy-fitting skirt. Pictured in a multi-dimensional look book film, simple shirts, gilets and tees are fitted with satin scarfs at the back, which when lifted like a cape, reveal backdrops of their own. From cloudy skies to snapshots of Maison Margiela’s library – these are comfy yet crafty looks ideal for those looking to make a studio set-up from the comfort of their own homes. You’ll never need to leave the house again.
