It’s been a minute since any of us have had a proper get-away, hasn’t it? The only tan we’ve gotten through the pandemic has been the bottle, and it just ain’t the same when you’re drinking an Aperol Spritz under the shitty British sunshine. Thank god, then, for Miu Miu, which today releases its Maritime capsule collection – described as a “voyage to new territories.”
The perfect sort of garb for pretending you’re on a summer vacay to the south of France, the collection is evocative of traditional sailor attire. From wide-shouldered frocks with generous flap collars, to retro tracksuits and lacey crop tops, the capsule takes traditionally masculine tropes and feminises them in a way only Miuccia Prada knows how. “Maritime speaks of possibilities – the commencement of a journey. The coastline is not the end of the land, but rather marks the start of something new,” reads the press release.
The collection is carted off to the concrete ramparts of the Plage de Bon-Secours at Saint-Malo, where photographer Johnny Dufort and stylist Lotta Volkova have created the ultimate holiday fantasy. We’re not jealous, we promise.
