The term “icon” is thrown around quite loosely in the fashion industry. Yet when it comes to Miu Miu, and the design Superwoman that is Miuccia Prada, these fierce fashion forces are more than deserving of such a prestigious title. Luckily, Miu Miu isn’t afraid of sharing the throne, as the brand’s 2020 Holiday campaign celebrates pre-existing icons, as well as shedding light on a host of emerging talent.
“How to define an icon? What creates one?” questions the press release. The answer? Women, of course. Familiar faces of the campaign include legendary actresses Chloë Sevigny and Kim Basinger, who are well and truly a part of the Miu Miu family by now. The campaign also paves the way for female icons of the future. From teen television favourites Jordan Kristine Seamón (We Are Who We Are) and Storm Reid (Euphoria), to the next Lady Diana in The Crown – Emma Corrin – Mrs Prada has a fine eye in picking the talent of tomorrow.
After first opening the brand’s AW20 show, it comes at no surprise that this time around Storm Reid fiercely stares down the lens whilst wearing a gorgeous black Miu Miu gown. Similarly, Du Juan wears the tiara of everyone’s dreams but as we all know she doesn’t need it to prove her inner queen. We’re standing with open arms ready to embrace every inch of girl power this festive campaign brings.
