There was a lot of flesh at Margaret Howell. Well, for Margaret Howell anyway. Arms were bare. Boys wore simple vests in linen or a mustard knit tucked loosely into relaxed linen trousers or shorts. Apart from the baring of flesh though this was a classic Margaret Howell collection. Louche slouchy tailoring in a palette of faded navy and greys. Think summer linen. Tailored jackets and pleated cuffed trousers with a skinny fringed scarf looped round the neck. Satisfying and reassuring – don’t change Margaret, we love you just the way you are.
