There’s a certain pleasure to wearing a single colour. Ten Towers is generally caught in top-to-toe black, possibly navy, at a push grey. But there is an even greater pleasure, or so we are told, to dressing in several colours. As evidenced by Lou Dalton’s menswear presentation today, which was, to utilise a bit of a cliche – a veritable rainbow of the stuff. And really, what better proposition when today is, quite resolutely, grey? For AW17, there was white suiting (yes, for us, white is a colour), less utilitarian than Lou’s previous offerings, more slouchy, or coloured knits (some with pom-poms!), two-tone hats and scarves. But the climax was the painted denim in a riot of colour, a bit like an abstract stained glass window, across matching trousers, shoes and a jacket. Lou’s technicolour dreamcoat?
