Betty Catroux and Saint Laurent flock together like birds of a feather. Model and fashion icon Betty has always been part of the Saint Laurent world, having been friends with the label’s creator right up until his passing in 2008. But this is the first time she’s actually modelled for the house. Leave it to Mr Anthony Vaccarello to bring such an important person in the brand’s history, and present her in the modern Saint Laurent way we know and love. Shot by David Sims you can feel the effortlessly chic and classic attitude oozing from film and still images. Her white blonde hair and pout come together with androgynous allure as the Velvet Underground sing (appropriately for Saint Laurent, who know a thing or two about creating fabulous footwear) about “Shiny shiny boots of leather”.
