Kent & Curwen: Menswear SS18

Argh, major heart palps this morning after getting a preview of Kent & Curwen with Mr David Beckham himself, at which point much perspiring occurred at being in the presence of such a radiant piece of man (he’d been on his hols – glowing) or maybe just because I was wearing wool and it was about 10,000 degrees. Anyway, Kent & Curwen is his brill line with Daniel Kearns, a duo that are dead set at bringing back traditional British fashions for the present-day man.

And they do a good job on it – it’s not stuffy – think: washed-out rugby tops, preppy striped tailoring, cable-knit jumpers – can we call it public schoolboy, redux? And it’s more relaxed than it sounds – there was some brill shirting with detachable collars, nice roomy macs and the chinos were cut to fall loosely on the leg. And, whilst heritage might have been the jumping off point, it still felt current. Clothes than men want to, and are, wearing, now.
