Why have just one pop culture icon when you can have three? Jimmy Choo and Jean Paul Gaultier are celebrating the release of their collaborative footwear capsule with a fever-inducing campaign featuring none other than the princess of pop herself, Miss Kylie Minogue. With a history of donning custom Gaultier creations and Choo shoes, Minogue’s iconic status positions her as the ideal muse to pay homage to the indomitable and longstanding legacy of both brands. Shot by Paris-based photographer and filmmaker Valentin Herfray and styled by secular saint Katie Grand, Minogue stars in a series of playful images and film shorts that mirror the femininity and rebellious confidence woven into the DNA of the partnership.
Co-designed by Jimmy Choo head honcho Sandra Choi and JPG creative director Florence Tétier, the release fuses together the irreplaceable spirits of Paris and London, embodying a singular lexicon surrounding sexuality, craftsmanship and grit. Reflecting on the decision to tap Minogue for the shoot, Tétier notes, “Jimmy Choo is like the Gaultier of shoes – craft, meets rebellion. And Kylie is more than a musician – with a rich and deep history with both houses. When I think about design references and aesthetics, both our brands celebrate the strong female form framed through pop culture, a shared ideology that really stands out. Kylie is the embodiment of that.”
Reflecting on her involvement, Minogue highlights, “Fashion for me has always been about collaboration with like-minded creatives, and pure personal self-expression. Jean Paul Gaultier and Jimmy Choo have both been part of my fashion journey, and I’m thrilled to work with both of them to celebrate this exceptional collection. It’s our collective histories fusing, to create something fresh and new.”
