Simon Porte Jacquemus, the designer behind Jacquemus, has been a bit of a tease on social media for months, dropping various hints about an upcoming “special project”. I mean, I don’t mind a little teasing (especially when its from a man as dreamy as Mr Porte himself) but enough was enough and yesterday he finally broke the news, that news being that he will be going back his roots – Marseille, to be exact, the city that he has loved dearly since he was a child. He’ll be holding a special series of events there, from a fashion show revisiting his SS17 collection, inspired by the south of France (the one with the hats), to multiple exhibitions exploring Simon’s archive and his relationship with the city. They will run from May to January – including the iPhone shot “Images” exhibition, which promises a more intimate look into his world and inspirations (more selfies? please?). And if that’s not enough Jacquemus to fill you up (is that even a thing?) he is also releasing a book “Marseille je t’aime,” by artists and photographers including 10 contributor Pierre-Ange Carlotti. I’ll be honest, all this info has left me a bit sweaty. But the good excited kind. Stay tuned for more info…
