J.W. ANDERSON: THE PRE FALL COLLECTION, 2012
This feels a bit school uniform. A bit good girl gone awry. Maybe it’s the navy, maybe it’s the stiffness of the skirts and the boxyness of the jumpers but something about this feels rather English and all girls boarding school. Like a less slutty St Trinians but just as tomboyish. It also, weirdly, reminds us a bit of the Queen relaxing with the corgi’s in Balmoral, minus headscarf obviously. Shiny hats are far more wet weather appropriate. If only J.W. Anderson was compulsary so much so that on the annual pilgrimage to the Peter Jones uniform department you had no choice but to buy it.
