We have news! Well, not ours, but someone else’s – Isabella Burley’s, specifically, who this morning announced that she will be (alongside her role as Editor-in-chief of Dazed) be joining Helmut Lang as Editor-in-Residence. She said via her Insta: ‘I’m very excited to announce I have been appointed Helmut Lang’s first Editor-in-Residence. This role, which I hold alongside my current position at Dazed, will see me bring an editorial eye to influence all departments of the company… Helmut Lang’s website and digital platforms will be relaunch in Summer 2017.” And, in one of her first tasks, she’s recruited Shayne Oliver of Hood by Air for a special project that will most likely involve a collection of menswear, womenswear and accessories, a rumour long been circulating since he cancelled his HBA show in Paris this season. That will be revealed this September, and it is thought it will set a precedent for similar designer collaborations in the future. Stay tuned.
