Here’s our amazing Spring 08 cover girl Shalom Harlow giving good (android like) face in Hussein Chalayan’s S/S 99 collection ‘Geotropics’ in a look that’s closer to a spacecraft or modernist chair than garment. We’ve come to expect this kind of thing from Mr. Chalayan, and this latest exhibition reveals the inner workings of his multi media design process. If you happen to be in Paris during July take some time out from your shopping session for a spot of culture at The Arts Decoratifs Museums new retrospective ‘Fashion Narratives’. It’s a sure fire way to save some cash- everything in the shops will look bloody archaic in comparison.
