Hot off the collab wagon: news this afternoon that Gucci are teaming up with Brit artist Unskilled Worker on a special capsule collection. Which leads us to wonder: how on earth does Mr Michele find the time to scout out so many TYTs (talented young things) to work alongside? It’s collab after collab with him. Not that we’re complaining – he has great taste. This one came in a couple of parts: first, Michele invited the artist (her) to take part in the brand’s Shanghai exhibition in 2015, and now she’s back for a 40-piece capsule collection spreading across shoes, bags, ready-to-wear and just about everything else that you can find in a Gucci store, the pieces mixing up Unskilled Worker’s witty and playful portraits and florals with Gucci’s eclectic romanticism. And, for the first time, this collaboration will be available worldwide on Oct 11th so no waiting for it to arrive in your home country – but we would recommend moving fast, because this stuff is coming to sell.
To accompany, there will be new art wall locations, fly posters and outdoor galleries of her work in London, New York, Paris, Milan and Shanghai, as well as an exclusive piece of work by the artist, available as a free (FREE!) download on Gucci.com and unskilledworker.co.uk from 11th October. Mark your diaries.
