Save and survive. That was Gosha Rubchinskiy’s show title – he wasn’t thinking pessimistically, but rather quoting an old Russian saying. Not sure if it was about saving money to buy Gosha’s gorg clothes (maybe), or about saving yourself. Probably. Gosha’s quite deep. That’s why Rei Kawakubo likes him: she was front row to watch this show, a rare demonstration of support from the resolutely reclusive designer. She’s also invested in his business. We couldn’t tell if she liked the parade of pinky, reconfigured street wear on Instagram-cast models that Gosha gave us – but if she’s anything like us, we suspect she approved heartily.
