Giuseppe Zanotti has a canny knack for celebrity collaborations. Having previously tapped JLo, Rita Ora and Zayn Malik, next up is a co-created limited-edition collection with 10 Men Issue 49 cover star and half of hip-hop brother duo Rae Sremmurd, Swae Lee. Self-confessed kindred spirits, the pair first got acquainted when he appeared alongside his brother Slim Jxmmi in Zanotti’s Blabber trainer in 2019.
“What drew me to Swae Lee is his fearlessness,” explained Mr. Zanotti. “He’s able to straddle different worlds – tough and soft; luxury and street – effortlessly and naturally. He has an unbelievably authentic touch.” The feeling is requited, with Swae Lee name dropping Giuseppe in We, the first song he ever wrote. “These shoes really reflect my creative POV, my eclectic approach to style and the idea that fashion doesn’t have to follow any rules,” says Swae Lee.
Working closely with Zanotti throughout the entire process, Lee’s signature rule-breaking approach to style is channelled in full force with the collection. Think crystal-embellished suede loafers, glittery lighten-struck block-heeled boots and a romantic painted floral motif surrounding a “GZ” lettering (a newly developed logo), which appears on Blabber trainers and ankle boots. The collection will drop to coincide with the Super Bowl weekend, with the pair hosting an exclusive cocktail party at Saks Fifth Avenue in Miami. In the words of the Mississippi duo, it’s a surefire real crowd-pleaser.
Giuseppe for Swae Lee collection will be available from select Giuseppe Zanotti boutiques and online from 31st January.
