The watchful gaze of one of Mr Armani’s piercing blue eyes backdropped the designer’s latest Giorgio Armani men’s collection. The designer turns 90 this year and isn’t interested in completely reinventing his customer’s wardrobe. Instead, his clothes come laced with timeless pizazz, designed to be worn for years to come.
His AW24 outing toured through stone-coloured suiting with wide-ish trousers and elegantly slouched jackets. Delightful herringbone tweeds were paired with plum coloured velvet, and tailoring was paired with scrunched boots. Other delightful colour combinations came via the collection’s knits, which ranged from pink and olive green to turquoise and aquarium-gravel blue.
Next came a procession of Neve skiwear, were fleece trousers and iridescent-green toned puffer jackets and track pants will undoubtedly win over loyal slope-goers and gorp core bros alike. In signature Armani style, the designer closed things out with gentlemanly eveningwear, which saw snug waistcoats, navy suit jackets and handsome slippers frosted with sequins. In Giorgio Armani, you don’t have to be the loudest one in the room to make a statement.
