Goodbye (kind of) – Giles Deacon, London designer extraordinaire, has today announced that he will close his ready-to-wear line. Now, on the face of it, this seems like very sad news. But wipe away your tears dear Tenners, this is not the end, oh no. Mr Deacon will continue to concentrate of his couture offering, shifting to Paris to show his collection during couture fashion week. “We want to focus on what we do well, and maximise the success of the red carpet and private client work we’ve been doing over the past four years. We want to be the go-to business for super special daywear and eveningwear, to focus on what we are known for, and what our customers want from us,” Deacon told WWD. “With couture, it means I get to show fall in July, with delivery in September. My clients will be getting their pieces in season.” We await collection numero uno with baited breath. Fabulous gowns are sure to abound…
