Fashion with frills attached. That’s what we get from Giambattista. If his pink puffy haute couture creation worn by Rihanna at the 2015 Grammys wasn’t enough to convince you of the fact, then his AW15 collection will be. Okay so this is ready-to-wear, not haute couture, so there isn’t the same level of opulence. But opulence – a very Valli opulence exists in the collection nonetheless. Literal frills adorned collars, shoulder and sleeves. There was loud seventies-inspired floral print fabric, laser-cut leather, fur and sequin-embroidered panels and kinky lace-up leather boots. It had an element of Betty Catroux-ness about it. It was sexy and super sultry.
