So there we are, minding our own business, when up pops picture of scantily clad teenage boy. Nope, nothing smutty for once – merely a first glimpse of Calvin Klein Jean’s latest campaign which stars Mr Cameron Dallas, who is actually not a teenager, but a 21-year-old man, blessed with such genes that he positively radiates youthful vigour. Such are Mr Cameron’s youthful charms that he has about a billion Instagram followers and a dedicated following of teenage girls that 1) traipse after him wherever he should go and 2) cry when he appears, a phenomenon for which we can vouch for having seen it happen in the flesh outside the Calvin show in Milan last menswear week. He’s an internet IT-boy, you see. Feeling a bit ancient about this one.
The campaign, shot by US-photog Jack Pierson, errs on the wholesome side of things – you know, a slightly dampened white short rather than a full wet t-shirt-style drenching. Boy next door stuff. Enough, though, we’re sure, to induce euphoric effects in both pre-/pubescent teenage girls. Mr Dallas follows in the footsteps of fellow youf starlet Justin Bieber, who has appeared in various states of undress in previous CK campaigns. But who needs Biebs when you have a younger model, non?
