In just over a week’s time, Silvia Venturini Fendi will showcase her first menswear collection since handing over the reins of Fendi’s womenswear to Kim Jones – who will present his debut Couture collection for the house on January 27.
Whilst the fact we’ll be getting two Fendi collections in under two weeks is epic enough, the house has just released its spring/summer 2021 campaign, premiering exclusively on 10 Magazine. Stepping behind the lens is legendary British photographer Nick Knight, who transformed his London studio into an ethereal neutral-hued paradise – akin to the sheet-laden catwalk – that compliments the colours of the collection. Moments of honey yellow, sky blue and cardinal red are caught in flashes of sudden movement, as the likes of Mariacarla Boscono, Jill Kortleve and Henry Kitcher saunter through the space.
The co-ed collection was an ode to Italian craft and family values, inspired by Silvia Venturini Fendi’s time spent bonding with loved ones during the first wave of international lockdowns. It was “Fendi workmanship applied under surreal circumstances,” said the designer at the time, and whilst it might have been her final womenswear collection, she set the standards high for the new era of Fendi that waits just around the corner.
