It’s not about your feet, it’s a what you wear on them. Or, in the case of Federico Curradi’s SS18 collection shown at Pitti Uomo in Florence this morning, what you don’t. Because the boys here were in la nude from the ankle down. Not a shoe in sight. That, is, apart from the pairs that the boys had in their hands, hanging down by the the laces. Like a little dhow-shaped bag. So what does this say? Well, in lieu of a press release we will instead offer that it spoke to the grounded feeling of the collection – this patchwork of neutral tones and loose layers, or those lightweight, almost washed out fabrics that gave the whole thing a dishevelled, worn in feeling, like they’d had a life. Particularly good was the knitwear, which was mottled and worn with bunched-up shirting beneath. This was a purposeful design, done really quite handsomely.
