Farfetch Team Up with The Folklore to Spotlight 10 Black-owned Businesses

2020 has been an eventful year, to say the least. After the murder of George Floyd in May, the Black Lives Matter movement saw a much-needed rise in global attention. People across the world used lockdown as a time to focus on confronting racial injustice and to educate themselves on systemic racism prevalent in all sectors of modern life.

Part of Farfetch’s on-going effort to engage with Black-owned businesses, the e-tailer has spent the last few months building a partnership with online concept store, The Folklore, to use their respective platforms to promote emerging talent from Africa and the diaspora.

All 10 designers will be a part of The Folklore’s autumn/winter 2020 launch. Some of the standouts include Orange Culture, Clan and Andrea Iyamah, amongst several others. Orange Culture plays with a multitude of fabrics and textures, from colour block viscose dresses to mesh shirts with shorts to match. Colour is definitely its strong suit. Meanwhile, Clan presents a totally vegan collection, featuring a cracking sheer panel tops with touches of leopard print. Andrea Iyamah treats us to bikinis, evening gowns and wide-legged trousers in trippy geometric prints. You’re practically spoilt for choice.
