European Fashion Is Heading Stateside

All eyes on America!

Earlier this week it was announced that Jonathan Anderson’s first cruise show for Dior will take place stateside – Tinseltown to be precise. Scheduled for May 13 in an undisclosed location in LA, the announcement comes off the back of a few other houses declaring that they will be crossing the Atlantic for their cruise shows. A migration is underway, and it seems the world’s biggest brands are flocking to the US as their newest muse.

In just a week’s time, on December 2, Matthieu Blazy will present his inaugural Chanel Métiers d’Art show in New York City, setting the metropolis alight with tweed, pearls and pure French attitude. Gucci has also set its sights on the Big Apple as it gears up to present its 2027 cruise collection in the same city that once welcomed the maison’s first flagship abroad, cementing its foothold in the U.S. Slated for May 16, 2026, the show will mark Demna’s first cruise collection for the house since he was appointed artistic director back in March, 2025. A full circle moment, it’s set to fold past and present into one – a homecoming of sorts, but with an edge only Gucci can deliver. Then, on May 20, Nicolas Ghesquière’s Louis Vuitton will parade its excellently dressed women through a yet-to-be-revealed Manhattan landmark.

With Paris, Milan and London suddenly feeling just a little farther away, America stands centre stage – a new runway playground where old world heritage meets Hollywood theatrics, skyline silhouettes and an undeniable sense of cultural shift.

The message is loud and clear: fashion’s compass is pointing West. And everyone’s watching.
