It was game on at Emporio Armani where a playing card theme unfolded. The designer gambled on roomy, masculine tailoring to start the show, opening with a three piece grey flannel suit dubbed ‘The Godfather’ complete with an elegant gold pocket chain. A double breasted suit was paired with a soft chiffon blouse printed with playing card motifs. Glittering cards also decorated lapel pockets in lieu of pocket squares. Wide velvety corduroy worn with fuzzy mohair bomber jackets added a relaxed edge. Throughout, the look was playful and laid back but always elegant. Rich velvet trousers worn with white cotton tops and ties carried on the masculine theme. Oversized bows swagged the hems of twenties-style dresses and in eveningwear the playing card motifs were expressed with heart shaped patch pockets and a heart bustier. Emporio Armani came out to play.
