Emporio Armani: Ready-To-Wear AW23

From the first moment the smiling models sauntered into the Armani Theatro, presented this season in the round, the collection, Circus of Life, was an expression of upbeat joy from Mr. Armani, following in the same sprit as couture shown just a month ago in Paris, which in turn was a play on the Harlequinade. The jet-black velvet shorts off set, the natty pink jackets with velvet lapels; a nylon bomber edged with velvet added a luxe invitation to party. The super skinny thigh length boots had just the right amount of chunky extended Cuban heel and the Cabaret-esque Sally Bowles bowler hats put the purring into this night. We like a Kit Kat club vibe. Buttoned jodhpurs ringmaster style, emerald and cobalt velvet pants suits were all softly tailored classics, deep corset belts cinched, giant paillettes rustled, all ready for mad dancing and going off like fireworks. A-line short swishy party dresses and bundles of pearls were a twirling a lesson in Emporio Armani. And then there was the Guy Bourdin exhibition that has just opened at the Armani Silos space across the road – mirroring this richness of colour all of its own. A must see.
