Dean and Dan Caten are apparently moving storage in a branch warehouse, or so their set read. The DSquared2 show began with smoke and ‘Serenade D957’. That’s by a symphony orchestra if you didn’t know. But because it’s Dsquared2 the orchestratic dramatics then dropped into Fdel’s ‘Ladies and Gentleman’. If you listen to these songs one after the other. you’ll understand the essence of DSquared2 Spring Summer 2017. The dramatic theatrical extravaganza meets street style gold. Stella Maxwell opened the show in cheetah print padded pumped up shoulders and diamanté embellished loose low slung jeans setting the tone. Think Edwardian power short puff sleeves meets animal print and a little ruched fabric here and there that resembled mini bustles. La Belle Époque on crack. Fierce. Fabulous. Opulent. Yes, if you’re going to do it, do it with confidence. Go hard or go home. DSquared2 girls have a kick ass attitude. They are Dean and Dan’s street army come straight from the theatre. Their thick curls bounced – quite literally like slinkys as they marched with their necks elongated and jaws stuck out. This girl is dangerous. Don’t mess with a girl covered in that many embellishments.
