This Dries Van Noten show was an essay in modern dressing. All the contemporary fashion commandments were there. Thou shalt have Practicality: Dries obliged with elevated workwear and practical pieces (elongated cagoule coats and crisp cotton overalls). Thou shalt have Insta-friendly pops of colour: Those practical pieces were worn with shell tops and pencil skirts, thick with primary orange or blue palettes. Vivid beaded macrame halters were worn over tailored jackets for extra wow. Thou shalt reference Couture: Van Noten was happy to oblige with swagged satin skirts, exaggerated bows placed at the hip and twists of fabric trailing into trains. The models even wore blue feather wigs for added hauteness. The layering was crisp, the mood was fresh and the colours zinged with life. Dries does chic his own way and it looks great.
