Fashion pre-Internet can be hard to come by, especially when it comes to runway. Shame, as late Eighties, early Nineties fashion is some of the best there ever was – not the chokers and raver pants – I mean the gentle, soft minimalist glamour by designers, say, Dries Van Noten. And thank God Dries Van Noten knows we, the fashion crazy, crave the lost but not forgotten. To celebrate his 100th show this past March he’s treating us to not one but two books featuring shows 1-100. We are dizzy/giddy/overjoyed. That is more than 2000 images of Dries decadence and delicious fashion.
“I like the idea that this commemorates my past so that I may just focus on the future and further evolving as a designer from now,” said Van Noten in a statement. “I originally published a book to commemorate my 50th show and so it came naturally to also do so for the 100th. The 100th show itself was a celebration and I wanted to make it last.”
Relive every moment as if you were there and not alone in your bedroom, scouring the internet for things that aren’t there.
