This season, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana stripped their collection of theatrics to tell “a story of elegance” shot through a lens of classic refinement. In an almost all-black colour palette, the design duo flaunted their talents as master tailors with a collection aptly titled Sleek. Looking for the perfect black suit? Dolce & Gabbana’s got you covered. Exceptional dinner jackets were lean and sharp, and came in an abundance of finishes – be it slender and frosted with sequins or built with wide shoulders and crafted from velvet. Silk shirts and crisp, white pussybow shirts walked alongside military-style jackets, slender waistcoats and chalky grey, leopard-print duster coats.
The precision of Dolce & Gabbana’s cut was on full display. Tuxedos harked back to a golden era of evening dressing but still felt modern, especially when suit jackets came cropped just above the waistband, or laden with clusters of crystal embellishments. Lavish faux furs, lace-infused shirts, and silky cummerbunds rounded up the opulent offering, making a fitting wardrobe for a modern dandy.
