Dior Homme: AW16 Menswear

Looking back without nostalgia. That was the challenge Kris Van Assche set himself at Dior Homme – plus the added pressure of translating whatever that would look like into clothing. He settled on the hybrid – skate meeting New Wave. The set articulated it clearly, with neon-lit ramps and half-pipes winding up resembling a nightclub. The clothes themselves fused the motions, so a skinny-cut white shirt may have cuffs slit to be worn like skate gloves, or a skinny tailored suit jacket is worn with wide-cut trousers like the baggiest of baggy jeans. The Dior codes, however, were present and correct. Flowers, embroidery, couture craft. Just with new edge.
