#DIESELTRUBUTECOLLECTION: NICOLA FORMICHETTI X NICK KNIGHT
Nicola Formichetti’s new #DIESELTRIBUTECOLLECTION is the result of the Artistic Director’s submersion in the previously untapped resource that is the brands 35 year historical archive in Breganze Italy. We’re imagining this two tiered range- which encompasses both denim and leather as something of a ‘I’ll be needing the keys’ statement from Formichetti, as a means to fully celebrate his appointment. Describing it as an ‘homage to the DNA of Diesel’- it’s an incredibly detailed kind of love letter that comprises both men’s and women’s product, as each of the 45 items in the collection have been painstakingly hand crafted in order to deliver ‘individual pieces of fashion history’. A fittingly monumental campaign was obviously needed- and alongside long time collaborator Nick Knight, Formichetti has created one that’s typically new-media savvy. Executed solely on iPhones with a flourish provided through filters and various glitching capabilities, the images are set to be distributed across various social platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and of course where you’re reading about it all right now- Tumblr. Nicola’s legions of Tumblr fans will be pleased to know that the man himself will be at Diesel’s Covent Garden Store on November 8th 4pm-6pm for a celebratory meet and greet.
