COMME DES GARCONS: PARIS S/S 2011

The wonderful world of Rei Kawakubo never disappoints. She challenges herself with such vigour every season. Just to witness this vision is like being part of a privileged happening.

This season she turned clothes inside out and upside down. Jackets trailed their sleeves behind them and were worn over sheaths of jersey. This sounds like it would distort the silhouettes but on the contrary gave a clean chic modern line which made the pieces totally wantable. The introduction of the feather and net cloches designed by Julien D’ys gave an air of elegance and classism.  With the slight romantic twist of gothicism. It was a resounding success just the right quantity of all the right ingredients as always.
