“These expensive, These is red bottoms, These is bloody shoes,” spat Cardi B on her ferocious 2017 summer-banger Bodak Yellow. No, she wasn’t talking about walking away from a crime scene. The rapper was bragging about her stellar pair of stilettos courtesy of Christian Louboutin. The French designer’s footwear upholds an untouchable level of prestige. For the wearer, a simple glimpse of the killer rouge sole adds a little oomph to their walk or a stronger arch to their stance. Louboutin’s are for the fashion fanatics who take footwear seriously. But what does the man himself have to say about the empire he has created? Our Editrix Sophia Neophitou picked up Mr. Louboutin and model Elisa Sednaoui from Claridge’s in London, a hotel Monsieur L designed the Christmas tree for and parked an actual Loubi train inside.
