For us the Christian Dior couture show narrated the story of the beautiful Scottish Widow; from birth, to marriage, to widowhood. Allow me to explain. She lived her childhood and teenage years in blue and pink pastels (see pictures 1 and 2), at time when she was young and carefree. She later married the man of her dreams in that pearly white gown (see picture 2). Sadly life was not the fairy tale happily-ever-after she had hoped for. Her husband experienced a premature death and she was left alone, widowed. From thence she spent her days in that severe navy blue coat (see picture 3) wandering the Scottish Highlands like a nomad, until succumbing to death’s call and rejoining her husband at last. A tragic tale, you might think. Though she did spend her days, from nursery to cemetery, wearing Christian Dior haute couture, so don’t feel too sorry for her.
