Bvlgari is extending its distinct brand of Roman luxury into Milan, with a new flagship store having just opened its doors on the Via Monte Napoleone. Known for being a go-to spot for the best high-end houses, the store effortlessly fits into its glossy surroundings. Spanning across three floors, the new opening blends local culture with the house’s Roman heritage. “The space creates a continuous dialogue between typically Roman elements, such as the eight travertine marble columns that evoke the history of the Eternal City, and the magnificent circular counter, inspired by the iconic cabochon cut,” says Bvlgari CEO Jean-Christophe Babin. “The stucco decorations on the ceilings pay homage to the refined Milanese design of the dining room in Villa Necchi, created by Piero Portaluppi. The brand’s Roman roots merge seamlessly with Milan’s eclectic and creative identity.” The broader scope of Italian craftsmanship is represented across the interiors, with master glass artisans like Venini and Barovier & Toso being enlisted to create pieces for the space.
To mark the opening, a selection of the maison’s most recognisable pieces will be on display in the exhibition Tubogas & Beyond, which will run in store until 29 June. Highlighting the Tubogas technique, a complex skill that doesn’t require soldering and therefore encouraged spiral pieces, the showcase features stunning pieces like the first Tubogas watch (1948-49) and Tubogas bracelet (1941) that make up an integral and essential part of the house’s history.
Alongside the opening, the Fondazione Bvlgari, the charitable arm of the house, has announced its first Milanese patronage for the Museo del Novecento, a longstanding home for some of the 20th century’s finest works of art. The project launched in partnership with the Municipality of Milan City Hall. “It is a testament to our unwavering commitment to supporting and nurturing culture, art, and heritage. Through this collaboration with the City of Milan, an internationally renowned hub for culture and creativity, we further solidify our role as a key player at the intersection of luxury, craftsmanship, and innovation,” says Babin. “Moreover, by working hand in hand with the Municipality, Fondazione Bvlgari is proud to contribute to the city’s vibrant cultural landscape, particularly by supporting important institutions such as the Museo del Novecento. This collaboration not only strengthens our connection to the local community but also establishes Fondazione Bvlgari as a patron of contemporary art, creating a powerful dialogue between luxury, heritage, and modernity.”
The store is now open and can be found at Via Montenapoleone 2, Milan. Discover more here.
