On the fashion calendar, September is the holiest month. The four horsemen of Fashion Week come riding in – full throttle, full force – and the winter campaigns just keep on coming. Burberry is no stranger to the excitement and in 2023, it’s buckling down with a new series of takeovers dubbed Burberry Streets, to celebrate the art of discovery and exploration in cities worldwide, merging the brand’s forward-thinking vision with its rich heritage and bringing modern British luxury to life in new and innovative ways.
First stop: London Town. Partnering with Norman’s Cafe, the North London-based café best known for its elevated take on ‘pub grub-esque’ British cuisine, expect a week-long eating experience erupting with decadent British dishes. At Norman’s, visitors are invited to experience the brand’s brand new house symbols – such as interiors and service ware decked with Daniel Lee’s updated seasonal check in knight blue and Equestrian Knight ‘Prorsum’ logo – as well as an exclusive Burberry menu. Open from September 13 to 18, you better get a move on if proper British eats are up your (Burberry) street – our mouths are already watering. Burberry for breakfast, anyone?
A Burberry at Norman’s food truck will also be on the move during London Fashion Week for industry insiders to grab some grub between shows, stopping off on The Strand and Duke of York Square until September 18.
Elsewhere, flags featuring the brand’s new rose print will fly high above Bond Street and the bright pixelated screens of Piccadilly will be lit up with videos from its idyllic AW23 campaign. The Equestrian Knight design will take to the streets in the form of chalk stencils on paths and in parks, and London’s iconic black taxis will be wrapped in Lee’s English rose print.
As experiences, installations and events will unfold across the capital, this new series coincides with Burberry’s highly anticipated launch of Daniel Lee’s first collection for the house, its zingy AW23 offering – which is now available for all your buying pleasures both in store and online, alongside a redesign of its e-commerce website, marking a new era and creative vision for Burberry.
Rod Manley, Burberry CMO, said in a press release, “With our redesigned website, new brand signifiers across product and branding and the launch of our global Burberry Streets initiative here in our home market, we’re looking forward to sharing the new Burberry world with our clients.”
