You already know Riccardo Tisci as the king of reinvention. When everyone goes left, he goes right and brings us something we never expect seeing. Tisci is a pioneer who has newness imbued deeply within him and since joining Burberry, just over a year ago, he’s been exploring the ideas of British identity within his unapologetically cosmopolitan approach to design. For the 2020 vision of the brand, he’s turning a new chapter courtesy of their SS20 campaign. “I have been working for a few seasons to define a new identity and visual language for this house. This campaign feels like the beginning and I wanted to celebrate the men and women who represent Burberry – some who have been a long-standing part of my career and others who have started this Burberry journey with me. Together they capture the sophistication and attitude at the heart of the house today,” Tisci writes in the release accompanying the Inez & Vinoodh-shot imagery launching today.
A mixed cast of Tisci’s all-time favourite faces includes Bella & Gigi, Kendall, Freja Beha and Rianne, all of who pose in front of the signature Burberry beige in the designer’s interpretation of wardrobe classics first seen in his latest show back in September. Feathered dresses and scarf-like blouses along with trenches which turned sexy dresses and striped rugby tops for the boys – it’s quintessential Burbs à la Tisci. And of course, it’s accessories galore: the TB Bag and Lola, both inspired by the brand’s founder Thomas Burberry, as well as the Pocket Bag make their starring appearance in photos which basically present our dream shopping list of the season.
