The grumpy aunt. The annoying little brother. The stoic grandpa. What’s a holiday party without the complexities of a large family, each member bringing in their own individual personality to the table? Well, instead of moaning about it, Riccardo Tisci celebrates the festivities of la famiglia as he brings together 40 ambassadors together in his holiday campaign. “It’s one of my favourite times of the year – when I can stop, reflect and reconnect with those who make me feel happy and at home, no matter where I am in the world. I loved the idea of bringing together a group of people that have been so supportive of me since I joined Burberry to celebrate my first holiday campaign for the house,” he says.
Photographed by Tisci’s good pals Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, the Burberry family dances away to the sound of Deee-Lite (it’s our new holiday anthem ‘What Is Love?’) in arguably the chicest party environment of them all – a plain and simple white room. Dressed in head-to-toe Burbs, it’s a meeting of new faces and legends as supermodel-turn-singer-turn-first-lady Carla Bruni hangs out with models Fran Summers and Lea T, while Eurovision babe Mahmood cheers with actress Zhou Dongyu. This global family of unrivalled talent celebrates the notion of togetherness, union, hope and love, all veiled in high luxe visual story of Tisci’s Burberry. Without a dress code, there’s full denim and puffer jackets as well as suits and party frocks. Oh, and Santa is here too – however chic, there’s always room for a little bit of camp. That’s just how we like it.
