“You aren’t the boss of me!” Well, actually, this lady probably is. Boss woman by name, boss woman by nature. She knows exactly what she wants. And that’s clothes that work – clean lines, sleek tailoring, a consistent colour palette – super clean whites, rich navies. The perfect trouser suit. Knee-length dresses. Clothes that leave her free to make the life-and-death decisions she has to make. Clothes that work for her. Efficient. But austere it’s not – it’s feminine at heart – pussy bow blouses, belts that cinch the waist, perfectly fitted dresses. And that’s because Jason Wu knows exactly what women want. Like he’s inside their head, hearing their thoughts. Think Mel Gibson in “What Woman Want” (sorry, dubious). But instead of using this power to seduce Helen Hunt with hilarious results, Wu uses his to create a ready made wardrobe for powerful ladies everywhere. Which is much more useful. He’s a keeper.
